Broadway, New York is the foundation of one more iconic show, The Lion King, as it tours another city with one more limited production to be held on Wednesday 28th May 2025 in Music Hall Kansas City, located in Kansas City, Missouri. With awe-inspiring facilities and equipment set up in the interior and exterior of the said theater, audiences have proclaimed that Music Hall Kansas City remains to be one of their {favorite|top|favored musical theater locations for the longest time.

The musical recounts the lighthearted yet tragic struggles of a young lion cub called Simba, who is the only successor to lead as the King of the Pride Lands following his father. The African savanna however is still a dangerous place, as even in this often lighthearted musical, tragedy strikes when Simba's father Mufasa is murdered due to the actions of his evil uncle Scar, who plans to usurp the throne of the Pride Lands. The fledgling cub fears for his own life and goes into self-imposed banishment that spans years. In his time away, he runs into new companions, Timon and Pumbaa, who live a worry-free lifestyle and influence him to do the same. Simba's happy-go-lucky mindset then takes a turn when Simba once more encounters his long-time friend Nala, who reveals the tyranny of Scar to him and asks him to retake his rightful place as king.

This incredibly powerful story of heartbreak, strong bonds, and fearless leadership is intensified by the iconic and emotional music, written by Elton John and Tim Rice. Their original compositions, supplemented with additional songs and lyrics from the likes of Zimmer, Lebo M, Mark Mancina, Jay Rifkin, and director Julie Taymor have served as the foundation of The Lion King not only in local performances, but also in Europe and Asia performances.

The Disney stage adaptation began on July 8, 1997, at the Orpheum theater in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The musical was received so well by fans and was praised for its unique execution, leading to the show's transfer and reopening in Broadway, New York on October 15, 1997.
