The Lion King at Kansas City Music Hall

The musical Lion King shares the struggles of the little lion cub Simba, who prematurely has no choice but to face his role of becoming the King of the Pride Lands due to unjust killing of his father, Mufasa. Mufasa, who is a beloved King by the people of the territory he rules, faces immense jealousy from Scar, Simba’s uncle, which leaves Simba without a father. This forces the lion cub into to escape for years, and jumpstarts his long journey and his subsequent return to his land and his destined rule as King.

Taken from the original 1994 motion picture of the same title created by Disney, The play, The Lion King was accurately translated to the theater platform by director Julie Taymor and the amazing cast and crew. Its debut in the 90s was the first of its kind, being lauded by fans at the time.
